NOT ALL DISABILITIES ARE VISUAL

That is why a small group of Trust and DSA members have worked together to deliver an Accessibility Passport that will be used in the stadium. This passport has been warmly received by BWFC and has the club’s full backing.

This passport will be immediately recognised by all stewards and will therefore take away any misunderstandings as to what the passport means to our supporters.

As the stadium will feature a Changing Place facility and some supporters will need to have access to this from different areas of the ground, this passport will give holders and up to 2 carers freedom of movement to reach the Changing Place facility, which will also have a Quiet Room adjacent to it for supporters who, on occasions, may need this facility, again with 2 carers being allowed to accompany them. Whilst we state 2 carers, we have to be mindful that if it was for example a family with children then they would all be able to accompany the supporter.

The passport will also give priority access to lifts whenever possible.

IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THE PASSPORT IS NOT MANDATORY AND IS FOR SUPPORTERS’ CONVENIENCE SHOULD THEY WISH TO USE IT.

The passport will ask supporters for some information which is designed to be of assistance to themselves.

Along with supporters’ Name, Client Reference Number (CRN) and Seat Number, it will ask for a telephone number. This number is for emergency only and should be of someone who is either accompanying the supporter or is a point of contact for a relative.

The passport will also contain a small section headed HOW YOU CAN ASSIST ME. This is for the passport holder to include information that will be helpful to stewards, for example:

I struggle with steps
I have difficulty standing for long periods
I am hard of hearing
I am non-verbal
I am visually impaired

The passports will be automatically sent with season tickets to all disabled supporters who have a carers ticket and will also be available to disabled supporters who have a club membership number by contacting the ticket office on 01204 328888 or ticketsales@bwfc.co.uk

It should be noted that there is no charge for these passports.

Thank you for your support!
