Super John Comes Out On Top In BWFCST Recruitment Race
Wanderers legend John McGinlay reckons he came out on top in his battle against Kevin Davies last night. The pair were at the Macron ahead of Wanderers’ 3-2 victory over Eastleigh in the FA Cup third round replay, fronting a recruitment drive for the Trust.
Over 500 people signed up in person, with many more taking registration forms away with them to complete at a later date. Since our initial meeting on January 6th, over 4,000 of you have signed up to the Trust, and we hope many more will follow in the coming weeks. An annual subscription fee is just £10.
After claiming victory in our recruitment drive, Super John now hopes a temporary truce will be called between him and Kev before this weekend’s game with MK Dons to help push the numbers above the 5,000 mark. Speaking to The Bolton News, he said:
“I won by miles on Tuesday. I must have bigger family because I made sure they all came down to sign up! Seriously, though, the only winner on the night was the Trust, and it’s great to see that people have embraced it. It’s heart-breaking to see what has happened to the club recently but as supporters sometimes you need to take a stand, and that’s what they are trying to do. On Saturday I think me and Kev are going to join forces, work together, and see if we can convince a few more.”
Thank you to everyone that showed their support last night. This is your Trust, no one else’s. We’re trying to make this club great again, and we can only do that with your help, so we hope to see as many of you as possible at the MK Dons game on Saturday.
Thank you for everything you’ve done so far.
